Jinju Carlson
Bassoonist/Reedmaker Jinju Carlson is a bassoonist and reedmaker in the Miami area, operating Carlson Reed Co. since 2006. Her bassoon studies began in the Washington DC metro area, taking lessons with area freelancers and DC orchestra members. Jinju earned her B.M. from James Madison University, where she studied bassoon performance and reed making with Dr. Susan Barber. She continued her studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and completed her M.M. at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Supplying bassoon reeds, cane and supplies to student, amateur and professional bassoonists around the world. Along with using precision machines and tools, Jinju puts a great amount of time and attention into her reed making to provide reeds and cane of the highest quality. |
